2nd meeting with Wild Thyme |
Met bride and her family and dress designer at a wine bar near Tower of London! After much discussion about fabrics and styles and colours we then went to view All Hallowes Church just a stones throw from Tower Bridge where all the sailors from years gone by used to worship before a voyage. We decided on the use of spring flowers in the church – huge purple iris and branches of mimosa would be needed to make any impact on such a huge area. Then to St Catherines Dock Hotel where the champagne would apparently be flowing freely throughout the reception. Again spring flowers carry on the theme from the church but the use of tropical fruit – pineapples, kiwi, bananas etc would be used to give the wow factor with huge palm leaves along the top table and an amazing ‘growing’ arrangements built around the cake table to create a focal point within the ballroom and a background for photos of cake cutting. |
On the day |
5am hired 2 extra vans and drove ‘in convey’ up to St Catherines Dock. Put in place all church flowers, reception flowers and then delivered bridal flowers by 10am. Brides father had organised an ‘all morning’ breakfast in a waterside restaurant for all of the suppliers working on the wedding and yes! The champagne was already flowing even in there! Had a coffee, croissants and one glass of bubbly before driving in convey back to rural Guildford! |
